Serve as the hospital’s telephone receptionist, welcoming patients and other customers by offering service and assistance in a pleasant and professional manner. This role is responsible for operating a computerized telephone console to ensure efficient communications, determining the reason for customer contact, and facilitating communications by answering calls promptly and forwarding them to the appropriate locations. The operator will also perform public address and paging mechanisms, monitor and manage pagers, and handle various technical operations of the telecommunications system. Additionally, the role involves maintaining logs, notifying staff of emergency situations, and acting as an answering service for departments.
