About The Position

Timmons Group is seeking a Telecommunications Field Technician to join its Telecommunications & MRE group in Butler, Pennsylvania. The technician works with electrical and telecommunications companies to inspect assets and analyze infrastructure. The role involves collecting field data, maintaining data integrity and equipment, and completing assigned work to client quality standards, with limited supervision.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information and research, interpret, and summarize data.
Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds across diverse terrain for long distances and in various weather conditions.
Highly motivated and self-starting, flexible, detail-oriented, comfortable interacting with employees and clients, and willing to work at a dynamic pace.
Willingness to work outdoors independently and walk moderate distances while carrying equipment.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge and experience with data conversion using ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or MicroStation.

Responsibilities

Collect GPS positions, photographs, and attribute data for electric and telecommunications utility assets in the field.
Work independently outdoors in challenging conditions.
Engage property owners to explain data collection tasks and their necessity.
Manage data files daily to ensure data integrity and security.
Interpret maps to determine efficient approaches to surveying project areas.
Meet or exceed client quality-control standards.
Care for and perform basic troubleshooting of equipment.
Work efficiently with limited supervision.
Perform basic maintenance and care for the company vehicle.
Cooperate with GIS Field Surveyors, Field Supervisors, and Project Managers to complete assigned work.
Assist Technical Analysts and the Project Manager in researching and recommending methods, equipment, or programs to improve task completion.
