About The Position

Tridon Communications has been awarded an exciting, new project in Fort McMurray, AB, and is looking for skilled, safety-focused, and driven technicians to join the team. This position involves telecommunications, electrical, and vehicular telecom installations within an industrial/oil sands environment. The role requires hands-on technical work in a fast-paced setting. The project is based in Fort McMurray, AB, with provided flights from Edmonton or Calgary, AB. It operates on a 7/7 shift rotation with camp-based work and is initially a 1-year contract with potential for extension.

Requirements

  • Electrical Expertise: Journeyman Electricians or 2nd/3rd-year Electrical Apprentices with a strong technical foundation.
  • Telecommunications and Low-Voltage Work: Experience with telecom installations, vehicular systems, or industrial field environments.
  • Hands-on Troubleshooting and Quality Installation: Ability to ensure reliable, high-quality work while following strict safety and compliance standards.
  • Team-oriented and Adaptable: Comfortable collaborating in dynamic, fast-paced project environments and willing to take on new challenges.
  • Reliable and Professional: Dependable in meeting project requirements, maintaining high standards, and contributing positively to the team.
  • Must be comfortable with a 7/7 rotation & a camp-based setting.
  • Full, valid, and current driver’s license.
  • Clean 5-year driver’s abstract.
  • Clear Criminal Background Check.
  • Successful completion of a Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol test, with ongoing random testing as required by clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform low-voltage and high-voltage tasks.
  • Perform LMR coaxial cable terminations and testing to ensure high-quality, reliable radio communication connection and performance.
  • Mounting and installing radios and in-vehicle communication equipment.
  • Terminate and test Ethernet cables.
  • Run and secure cabling inside fleet vehicles.
  • Perform hands-on work with a variety of power and hand tools.
  • Ensure top-tier quality and safety on every install.
  • Follow site procedures and work in a high-compliance environment.
