About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating, directing, and supervising crew(s) and subcontractors to complete various telecommunication project activities in a safe, quality, and timely manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical certifications in telecommunications.
  • Experience in telecommunication / wireless construction in both the private and government sectors.
  • Two (2) years of experience functioning as a Foreman/Supervisor and/or Lead level.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Splice and Terminate MM / SM fiber.
  • Perform fiber testing. This includes OTDR, power meter/laser source, and scopes.
  • Prep, tray, and splice fiber optic cable ranging from single fiber to large counts as well as perform ring cuts when needed.
  • Fiber optic testing and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Repair and resolve fiber optic systems.
  • Locate and access the fiber optic splice enclosures, splice the necessary fibers directly from a splice trailer, bucket truck, or outdoor field set up.
  • Labeling, documenting and updating drawings.
  • Appropriate training and experience required for Small Cell (SC) sites, New Build (NB) sites, Inspection & Maintenance work, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Tower Modifications (MODS), Microwave installation, coax, Cat5 / Cat6 and testing (Sweep / PIM).

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NWSA, TTT1, Authorized Climber, Competent Climber / Rescuer, Rigging, RF Awareness training, First Aid, CPR & AED preferred.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) a plus.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the telecommunication industry, preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (Bilingual a plus).
  • Skills in basic computing and email. Apple, Android, Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprint and construction plans, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Superintendent and/or Project management team to schedule materials, equipment, and work for the crew.
  • Complete required documentation and reports including but not limited to, crew timecards, daily reports, logs, incident reports and safety documentation.
  • Lead daily communication and safety meetings with crew regarding expectations, changes, and other information.
  • Enforce and comply with all Company safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Train and mentor crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Support employee counseling and performance appraisals.
  • Timely address safety and other job site concerns and issues with employees.
  • Monitor job site and crew safety to ensure work is being completed in compliance with project specification and safety standards.
  • Communicate with project management team regarding any delays, changes and/or emergencies at the job sites.
  • Actively inspect work site for potential health and safety hazards.
  • Maintain safe work environment that complies with OSHA standards and safety standards.
  • Participate in training and other forms of development to strengthen technical, safety, and other skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
