The Telecommunication Designer is an entry-level position responsible for completing high-quality coaxial and fiber network designs within customer-provided software platforms for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments. After training, the designer develops and digitizes network layouts—including strand maps, design maps, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)—in accordance with client standards and specifications. The role produces complete and accurate construction deliverable packages, including design drawings, redlines, and supporting documentation needed for field deployment. The Telecommunication Designer applies redlines, markups, and feedback from Tech Leads and Project Managers to update designs, performs quality control checks before submission, and coordinates with project teams to deliver work accurately and on time. The position also requires proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, and exposure to GIS design software such as Vetro, IQGeo, QGIS, 3GIS, Lode Data, OpenComms, ACAD, ArcGIS, or SmallWorld. This description covers the role’s regular and continuous essential functions and does not exclude other assigned duties. The position works in a routine office environment. Office locations are in Texas and Kentucky; work-from-home opportunities may be available to out-of-state candidates with proven experience. Extended hours may be needed.
