About The Position

Oversight and management of these areas will require both adherence to existing company procedures and methods, as well as the development and implementation of new and innovative procedures and methods. Punctuality, innovation, creativity, organization, communication, and consistency are necessary to excel in this position. This role involves significant customer relations, including interactions on customer job sites. Communication with field inspectors, Customer Agents, City Staff / Regulatory Agency Representatives, Locate Crews, Public and Private Utility Coordinators / Locators, the General Public, and Residents is crucial. Field issues must be escalated to the Construction Manager/Project Manager. As a Superintendent, 95% or more of the role takes place in the field. While a workspace is provided at an office, the expectation is that the Superintendent will be in the field overseeing projects as an extension of the Construction Manager/Project Manager (PM).

  • Ability to carry out and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to adhere to production expectations and meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals and benchmarks.
  • Ability to regularly inspect field equipment, trucks, trailers, etc., and notify PM of immediate concerns, needs, risks, etc.
  • Ability to Lock out / Tag Out any asset that poses a potential health and safety threat.
  • Ability to coordinate with HSE Personnel immediately and closely for all incidents and follow all Company, Customer, and Regulatory Agency Protocols.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with B Comm team’s direction to close out inspection gigs, resident complaints and trouble tickets, internal deficiencies, etc., within a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out and build in accordance with the schedule provided by the Construction Manager/Project Manager (PM).
  • Submit Construction Dailies with all supporting documentation for each project, each day via paper or QuickBase (as specified by the PM). This includes collecting and processing daily submittals from crew foremen, PCM (Project Construction Manager), and subcontractors.
  • Arrange for signage, door tags, white lining for locates, and all other project preparation activities as dictated by the PM.
  • Submit utility locates and/or other construction sequencing data such as for daily street sheets.
  • Submit all traffic control requests.
  • Coordinate materials needed for build, including all consumables, and submit purchase order / check requests as needed (up to allowance amount for spending thresholds).
  • Prepare, organize, and submit all project-related submittals at PM request or PM’s discretion.
  • Coordinate, create, and collect daily field Job Site Analysis forms and submit them.
  • Manage crew health and safety on the job site every day, all day.
  • Carry out and enforce company policies and procedures on job sites for personnel management, field safety, Customer policies and standards, local regulatory standards, etc.
  • Adhere to production expectations and meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals and benchmarks.
  • Regularly inspect field equipment, trucks, trailers, etc., and notify the PM of immediate concerns, needs, or risks.
  • Lock out / Tag Out any asset that poses a potential health and safety threat to any person or property.
