About The Position

To effectively handle communications and codes through the switchboard and to relay calls and messages to the proper person or department using a pleasant, clear phone voice and proper etiquette skills so that customers perceive excellent, competent service.

Requirements

  • Must be able to react quickly and calmly to emergency situations and work without direct supervision.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Must exude excellent communication skills including proper phone etiquette.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous switchboard or telephone experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operates the PBX answering incoming and in-house call requests.
  • Responds to all emergency codes quickly and calmly with appropriate overhead paging.
  • Contacts patients for an address update as indicated by Supervisor.
  • Reviews updates in the communication book and initial memos.
  • Inventories contents of safe at the beginning of each shift in the presence of a security guard.
