About The Position
The Telecommunications Apprentice will participate in the installation or maintenance and inspection of telecommunication systems and associate process alongside a licensed Telecom Technician.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Follow plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers
- Strict adherence to all safety rules and quality
- Participate in site housekeeping
- Interact with all co-workers and clients in an attentive courteous manner
- High School Diploma or relevant work experience
- 0-4 years of Field Experience, trade school or apprenticeship
- OSHA 10 certification
Responsibilities
- Regular attendance at assigned location that may include office or other project sites
- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients
- Assist with installation of cable supports, through floor and wall sleeves, fire stopping materials
- Assist with installation relays, cabinets, network switches
- Assists with the termination of data, voice, coaxial, control, and fiber optic cables
- Assist with installation cable trays above and below floors
- Ability to work in small spaces
- Test cables to TIA/EIA level II standards with cable analyzer and fiber test equipment
- Perform additional duties as directed by Management
- At times may perform clerical/administrative duties
