About The Position

Richland Library is seeking to hire a Full-Time Teen Center Librarian at their Main location. This position will assist customers with finding and using library materials and spaces effectively, provide readers’ advisory, and maintain in-depth knowledge of Teen Center collections. The role involves assisting in the maintenance of teen spaces, working with finance software for ordering supplies, and contributing to the development of teen collections. The librarian will collaborate with other departments and outside agencies, deliver high-quality customer service, ensure appropriate use of age-restricted spaces, and arrange and deliver presentations, visits, and outreach efforts. Additionally, the position may involve supervising staff and spaces in the absence of higher-level supervisors and assisting with the development and delivery of staff training materials. Requirements

  • American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS)

  • MLIS degree supplemented by related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with finding and using library materials and spaces effectively
  • Provide readers’ advisory and maintain in-depth knowledge of Teen Center collections
  • Assist in the maintenance of teen spaces

  • Assist with maintenance and development of teen collections
  • Collaborate with other departments and outside agencies
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to customers of all ages
  • Ensure appropriate use of age-restricted spaces within the library
  • Arrange and deliver presentations, visits, and outreach efforts
  • Contribute to ongoing evaluation of teen space in light of teen needs and customer feedback
  • Develop and implement programming for teens, students, and families
  • Supervise staff and spaces in absence of higher-level supervisors
  • Assist with development and delivery of staff training materials
