About The Position

American Express is expanding its Technology Vendor Management (TVM) team and capabilities to ensure critical third-party relationships deliver optimal value, resilience, and risk management at an enterprise scale. This role is responsible for the ongoing governance and oversight of strategic third-party software vendors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in negotiations, vendor management, or technology-focused third-party risk management. The objective is to develop effective strategies for engaging with external software vendors to achieve optimal performance and value. This is a key relationship and decision-lead position, requiring close partnership with Engineering, Global Supply Management (Procurement), General Counsel Office (Legal), and Technology delivery teams. Responsibilities include developing negotiation strategies, negotiating contracts with internal business partners, developing demand forecasts with business units, managing vendor performance, and driving cost optimization while maintaining strong vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • Strong background in negotiations, vendor management, or third-party risk management (specifically focused on technology).
