About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Teacher for our elementary and middle school students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in STEAM education, a commitment to fostering a love of learning, and the ability to create an engaging and dynamic classroom environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid Wisconsin DPI teaching license in Elementary Education or Middle Childhood-Early Adolescence with a STEM emphasis.
  • Strong commitment to the mission, vision, goals and objectives of One City.
  • Commitment to working with children from diverse racial/cultural populations and their families, experience preferred.
  • Ability to regularly and routinely lift and push at least 50 pounds.
  • Completion of a background check required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience in STEM subjects at the elementary or middle school level preferred.
  • Experience with project-based learning and integrating technology into the classroom is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of STEM content and effective instructional strategies.
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive STEAM curriculum that meets the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) standards.
  • Integrate technology, arts, and hands-on learning experiences into the curriculum.
  • Create lesson plans that are engaging, differentiated, and aligned with state and national standards.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction to elementary and middle school students.
  • Utilize various teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding.
  • Use data to inform instruction and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in STEAM education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and strategies for effective teaching.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress and school activities.
  • Participate in school events and activities to build strong relationships with students, families, and the community.
