Technology Systems Designer
About The Position
BR+A Consulting Engineers is seeking a Technology Systems Designer for their Miami, FL office. This role involves providing engineering, design, and drafting of plans, implementing approved system concepts, and creating sketches and rough layouts. The designer will review product cut sheets, communicate potential problems to the project team, meet with vendors, and coordinate with other disciplines and the architect. Responsibilities also include attending meetings, developing strategies to meet project schedules, assisting in the development of engineering systems concepts, supporting the design team on major issues, organizing technical correspondence, and performing field work to verify existing conditions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering
- Qualified experience using Autodesk Revit design software
- Minimum of 3 years of experience designing Information and Communications Technology systems (Data Networks, cDAS, Nurse Call, Electronic Security, Paging, Wireless, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Providing Engineering, Design work, and drafting of plans
- Implementing approved system concepts from a schematic diagram to floor plans
- Sketches, rough layouts to review with project engineer or Project Manager
- Reviewing product cut sheets and technical information
- Communicating with Project Manager/Project Engineer regarding potential problems
- Meeting with vendors to determine spatial requirements for application of the product
- Coordinating with other disciplines and the architect
- Attending meetings as required, working to submit the required documentation per project deadlines
- Attending in-house coordination meetings when appropriate
- Developing strategy to meet project schedule
- Assisting in development of engineering systems concepts (M/E)
- Assisting design team on major design issues
- Organizing required technical correspondence, emails and calculations
- Performing field work and verification of existing conditions
