We are seeking a Technology Designer to support the design and documentation of technology systems within construction projects, specifically in the fields of telecommunications, audio video, low voltage, and security. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, collaborate, and grow their technical skills in a supportive, team‑based environment. Working under the guidance of Senior Technology Systems Designers, the Technology Designer assists with day‑to‑day design tasks, coordination, and documentation while collaborating with clients, consultants, and internal teams. This role contributes to projects of varying size and complexity and supports overall project goals through proactive engagement and thoughtful execution.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in architectural engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, low voltage/communications engineering, or media arts production related to audio/music or film/video, or comparable experience
  • Experience in the design and/or installation of audio, video, security and/or telecommunication systems from conception through construction administration
  • Experience using AutoCAD, REVIT, and Bluebeam to develop drawing sets
  • Capable of managing your time and activities for optimal productivity
  • A proactive and curious approach to team, task, and project engagement.
  • Timely communication with senior staff regarding project work progression and status
  • A desire to design creative, innovative systems that keep us on the cutting edge of new technologies

Responsibilities

  • Support projects of varying size and complexity throughout all phases of design and construction.
  • Continue to expand knowledge and expertise in technology design principles and industry best practices.
  • Adhere to established quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency in design deliverables.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to develop programming, conceptual designs, and detailed design solutions.
  • Ensure all design materials comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Manage assigned design tasks to meet project budgets and schedules, coordinating with Senior Technology Designers as needed.
  • Participate in project meetings to foster collaboration, build consensus, and resolve design-related issues.
  • Review construction documents and shop drawings to verify alignment with design intent and client objectives.
  • Attend site visits to review project progress and adherence to design intent.
  • Maintain an understanding of project scope and escalate additional scope requests to the Senior Technology Systems Designer.
  • Contribute to project-specific content for Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Actively participate in industry or client-related organizations to support professional growth and strengthen client relationships.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with client peers to encourage ongoing and repeat work opportunities.
  • Provide assistance to Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Senior Technology Systems Designers as required.
