About The Position

This is a 10-week internship program designed for aspiring Software Developers or Systems Business Analysts. The program offers a pathway into real-world finance, global markets, and professional development. Interns will be fully immersed in BBH’s culture and business needs, working on meaningful projects in areas such as investment management, operations, technology, and client services. The program includes mentorship from industry leaders, professional development through workshops and speaker series, and networking events. Interns will work in a collaborative environment, with a daily in-office presence to immerse themselves in the company culture and accelerate professional development. The internship also includes opportunities for community impact through the BBHcares philanthropic program. The Technology organization focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship, and client focus, dedicated to fulfilling the information and transaction processing needs of financial markets. Team members may be involved in requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of products that meet critical business needs, utilizing proven technology to provide high-quality, cost-effective, and timely solutions.

Requirements

  • Current Junior in College, entering senior year in fall of 2027.
  • Background in and passion for Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Strong academic achievement as evidenced through a GPA of 3.3 or higher.
  • Ability to analyze business processes to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience or interest in working with large quantities of information for analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through academic and extracurricular activities.
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal; ability to explain technical issues in simple terms.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound judgment and demonstrated ability to identify, escalate and resolve a problem.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint - Comfortable using common formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, IF), building basic charts, and creating/manipulating pivot tables for simple analysis.
  • Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), Technology design, Agile development and Programming skills (e.g. Java, SQL).

Responsibilities

  • Build systems used globally by employees and clients.
  • Learn how technology solutions are built, deployed, run, and protected to support business functions.
  • Participate in the evolution of BBH’s technology strategy, including data and AI.
  • Gain exposure to different areas of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Gain exposure to Project Management Methodologies and the various tools used to support them.
  • Support business requirements discovery and create requirements documentation through close cooperation with product owners and software development teams.
  • Aid in planning meetings, preparation of materials, and participation in meetings with business users and/or vendors.
  • Analyze proposed changes or technical issues to be fixed, and assist with solutioning and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in the design process and technical specification documentation, which may include data modeling, dataflow diagramming, screen design, workflow analysis, etc.
  • Participate in the development process and systems testing, and gain exposure to development and automation tools.
