As a Technology Risk Senior Manager within PNC's Technology Risk organization, you will be based in either, Pittsburgh PA, Dallas TX, Strongsville OH, Birmingham AL, Pheonix AZ and Denver CO only. PNC is seeking a highly experienced Technology Risk Senior Manager to lead oversight of technology risk across critical enterprise technology functions and third-party service providers. This leadership role is responsible for establishing and executing risk strategies that support the Chief Technology Office (CTO), technology service delivery programs, and enterprise risk management objectives. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in technology risk and governance, leading teams, executive presence and communication, as well as experience in modern technology environments and programs including but not limited to: cloud infrastructure and platform services, APIs, enterprise architecture, asset management, and emerging technologies such as Generative AI and quantum computing. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to senior technology leaders, providing credible challenge, risk insights, and strategic guidance to strengthen PNC's technology risk posture while enabling innovation and business growth.

Requirements

  • University / college degree.
  • Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years.
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.
  • Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Technology Risk function supporting the CTO organization and key enterprise technology programs.
  • Establish and execute risk management strategies, standards, and governance frameworks aligned with business objectives, regulatory expectations, and enterprise risk appetite.
  • Drive the identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring, and mitigation of technology risks across the technology organization.
  • Provide independent and effective challenge to technology initiatives, control environments, and risk decisions.
  • Partner with executive leadership to prioritize technology risk reduction efforts and strengthen overall operational resilience.
  • Provide risk oversight and governance for technology programs and services including: Asset Management, Asset Configuration Management, Enterprise Architecture, IT Service Management (ServiceNow), CI/CD Pipelines and DevSecOps practices, Database Platforms and Data Services, API Management and Integration Services, Cloud and Platform Services, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Incident Management Programs, Emerging Technology initiatives, including Generative AI capabilities.
  • Report and Interpret technology risk metrics, key risk indicators (KRIs), vendor risk scorecards, and executive reporting.
  • Monitor risk exposures, identify emerging trends, and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Interpret threshold breaches, direct root cause analyses, and hold stakeholders accountable for corrective actions and measurable risk reduction.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level reporting to risk committees, governance forums, and senior leadership teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement of technology risk management practices, controls, and reporting capabilities.
  • Serve as the senior Technology Risk representative for regulatory examinations, internal audits, and Independent Risk Management reviews.
  • Lead responses to regulatory findings, audit observations, and risk assessment outcomes.
  • Translate evolving regulatory requirements and industry expectations into practical risk management and control requirements.
  • Ensure technology risk programs remain aligned with governance standards, regulatory guidance, and enterprise policies.
  • Build strong partnerships across: Technology, Enterprise Third-Party Management, Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, Resilience and Business Continuity, Supply Chain, Legal, Independent Risk Management, Internal Audit.
  • Influence strategic decisions regarding technology investments, vendor partnerships, cloud adoption, contract negotiations, contingency planning, and vendor exit strategies.
  • Provide leadership in balancing risk management objectives with business and technology priorities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of technology risk management professionals.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and risk-based oversight plans.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Build organizational capability and technical depth in technology risk management practices.
