About The Position

Technology Resiliency Architect is a senior hands-on architect responsible for embedding resiliency by design across the enterprise technology landscape. The role leads development, governance, and implementation of enterprise resiliency architecture standards across on-premises infrastructure, private cloud, public cloud, and SaaS platforms. Serving as a technical authority in Architecture Review Boards (ARB), this position partners with Business Unit architects and engineering teams to translate enterprise resiliency strategy into practical implementation guidance through Resiliency Implementation Guidelines (RIGs).

Requirements

  • 10+ years in enterprise, infrastructure, or solution architecture
  • Proven experience designing resilient hybrid architectures at large enterprise scale
  • Experience supporting architecture governance frameworks and ARB processes
  • Financial services or highly regulated industry experience preferred
  • Data center infrastructure and storage/compute resiliency patterns
  • Server virtualization platforms (VMware / private cloud)
  • Network resiliency and redundancy architectures
  • Public cloud platforms — AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Hybrid and multi-region cloud architectures
  • Cloud DR strategies and automated failover patterns
  • Disaster Recovery architecture and backup/restore platforms
  • Database recovery, replication, and PiTR implementations
  • Messaging resiliency — Kafka, MQ, Solace
  • Architecture Review Boards (ARB) and standards development
  • Enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF or equivalent)

Nice To Haves

  • Enterprise resiliency transformation initiatives
  • SRE and reliability engineering frameworks
  • Observability and monitoring platforms
  • Cyber recovery and isolated recovery architectures

Responsibilities

  • Hybrid Architecture Expertise On-Premises: data center resiliency, server/storage redundancy, DB failover, network patterns
  • Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP): multi-region, automated failover, cross-region replication
  • Private Cloud: VMware virtualization resiliency, storage and compute HA
  • SaaS: vendor resiliency assessments, failover capabilities, third-party DR validation
  • Well-Architected Resiliency Assessments: Lead resiliency reviews identifying architectural weaknesses and risks
  • Assess recovery capabilities against defined RTO and RPO targets
  • Develop remediation strategies and resiliency uplift roadmaps
  • Engineering & Automation Alignment: Promote IaC (Terraform, Ansible), DR automation, and recovery orchestration
  • Drive configuration/drift management and automated recovery testing
  • Regulatory & Risk Alignment: Ensure architecture standards support operational resilience requirements
  • Provide architectural evidence for audit and regulatory reviews
  • Collaborate with governance and risk teams to strengthen resiliency controls
  • Enterprise Resiliency Architecture: Design resilient architectures across on-prem, private cloud, public cloud, and SaaS
  • Develop patterns for high availability, disaster recovery (DR), and data protection
  • Identify and eliminate single points of failure in Tier-0 and mission-critical systems
  • Resiliency Implementation Guidelines (RIGs): Define technical standards and reusable architecture blueprints covering: DR, PiTR, backup/restore, database resiliency, messaging (Kafka, MQ, Solace)
  • Hybrid cloud recovery, storage replication, application failover patterns
  • Architecture Governance & ARB: Core ARB member — review designs for resiliency compliance and risk
  • Identify vulnerabilities, recommend remediation, enforce enterprise patterns
  • Act as technical gatekeeper for resiliency across all major initiatives
  • Business Unit Engagement: Provide hands-on architecture support for critical applications and platforms
  • Lead architecture design workshops with BU technology teams
  • Advise on DR, PiTR, and failover strategies for resilient hybrid architectures
