About The Position

The Technology Project Manager position is responsible for managing small to moderate sized projects. This position has overall responsibility for developing a project plan that is delivered within the agreed upon tolerances of time and budget. This position will continuously work in partnership with different business and technical stakeholders and will provide tactical management and project administration to the project team. This position is responsible for the coordination of leading multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver technology projects of varying size and complexity, focusing specifically on software implementation or enhancement projects.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) plus 3 years minimum experience (as described below) preferred, or 7 years of comparable experience.
  • 3+ Years of experience in project management including development, implementation, and maintenance of systems preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms.
  • 2+ Years of experience working with Agile or Waterfall methodologies for project management.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management certificate (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • PMI member in good standing.
  • Clarity, ITIL Foundations certified.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and allotment of available departmental resources to various project phases.
  • Creates a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
  • Formulates and defines the technical scope and objectives of the project.
  • Reviews the project schedule and plan with business partners and staff participating in the implementation of the project.
  • Oversees the execution of the project plan.
  • Ensures that forms and records are created to document the project activities and progress.
  • Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones and required tasks.
  • Assigns duties and responsibilities to project personnel.
  • Overcomes challenges and makes adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion of the project.
  • Communicates with stakeholders on the progress of the project.
  • Creates reports that describe the status of the project and budget associated with the project.
  • Evaluates, with the business partner, the outcomes of the project and establishes plans for any next steps or follow up activities necessary.
  • Staff member is expected to consistently adhere to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to their job as listed.
  • Staff member will not repeatedly act in a manner signifying intentional or willful noncompliance, nor exhibit gross negligence or a general disregard for compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Staff member must ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Staff member must complete all required compliance training on a timely basis.
  • Staff member will maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar’s internal compliance policies and procedures.
  • Staff member must take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
  • Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions.
  • Analyzes and resolves problems.
  • May be responsible for talent management functions including: employment, performance evaluations, staff development/training, disciplinary actions, succession planning and ensuring all staff comply with compliance requirements.
  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings.
  • Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
