About The Position

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of new schools technology projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame. This role involves assisting in the installation of technology in all new school buildings and overseeing all technology installations and upgrade projects.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft project manager
  • Good communication skills
  • Good writing skills
  • A+ computer certification
  • Transportation & a valid Driver’s license
  • Possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in any Information Technology degree.
  • OR Possession of an Associates degree from an accredited college or university in any Information Technology degree plus two years of work experience.
  • OR Four Years of work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree coupled with some schooling.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation of technology in all new school buildings.
  • Oversee all technology installations and upgrade projects.
  • Attend meetings with architects, state personnel, and district personnel concerning all new building projects.
  • Attend site construction meetings.
  • Make site visits when buildings are under construction.
  • Consult with management and review project proposals to determine goals, time frame, finding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.
  • Develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources.
  • Formulate and define technical scope and objectives of project.
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
  • Coordinate recruitment or use of project personnel (internal staff) including assignment of duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
  • Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules and plans as required.
  • Prepare project status reports (using MS project 2003) and keep management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.
  • Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
  • Coordinate and respond to requests for changes from original specifications.
  • Develop business processes that ensure developed application meets all project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical and project documentation.
  • Develop quality assurance test plans and direct quality assurance testing.
  • Coordinate project activities with technology and information systems groups, and client/district staff to ensure goals and requirements are met.
  • Prepare and present the project plans and proposals to Information Technology groups and district/clients.
