VP, Technology Product Manager

About The Position

As a Technology Product Manager at LPL Financial, you will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering technology solutions that support our financial advisors and internal operations. You will act as the voice of the customer, translating business needs into technical requirements and guiding products through their entire lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, preferably within the financial services or technology industry.
  • Experience with financial planning software, trading platforms, wealth management technology, or back-office financial systems is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing technology products from inception to retirement.
  • Strong understanding of agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise business language.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical feasibility with business needs and customer value.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for assigned technology products, aligning with LPL Financial's overall business objectives.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback sessions to identify opportunities and inform product development.
  • Define and document detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, UX/UI design, marketing, sales, and operations teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Prioritize product backlog based on business value, technical feasibility, and customer impact.
  • Manage product launches, including developing go-to-market strategies and training materials.
  • Monitor product performance, gather insights, and iterate on products to drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate product vision, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure products comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Evangelize the product internally and externally, fostering adoption and understanding.
