About The Position

Wise is seeking a Technology Procurement Manager to join their Third Party Management and Procurement Team in Austin. This role will focus on driving the Technology category, including Software, Hardware, Cloud Infrastructure, Data Services, Networks & Telco. The position offers an opportunity to leverage entrepreneurial and commercial expertise to support Wise's mission of enabling, protecting, and empowering the business through technology deals that align with commercial objectives, utilize frictionless processes, and deliver the best value for money.

Requirements

  • Established experience in forming commercial strategies, ideally within the financial services or fintech industry.
  • Must have had exposure to the categories of send in scope for this role (Software, Hardware, Cloud Infrastructure, Data Services, Networks & Telco).
  • 3 years experience in Procurement related process execution, running and scoring RFPs, holding negotiations directly with suppliers.
  • Able to demonstrate a project management skillset needed for the delivery of strategic sourcing projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to personally contribute to achieving commercial targets.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams.
  • Foundational understanding of risk management, with the ability to identify and flag potential risks.
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn sourcing tools, market analysis, and end-to-end procurement processes.
  • Ability to clearly communicate information and present scenarios to different stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage tasks and contribute to multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and results-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US. We cannot sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

  • Execute procurement strategies and conduct market research to understand industry trends and supply/demand shifts.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and assist in preparing for cross-departmental alignment meetings.
  • Manage cost reduction and spend optimization efforts by providing analytical and financial support for sourcing projects.
  • Coordinate the evaluation and selection of suppliers by gathering data and applying established criteria for quality, price, and reliability.
  • Analyze contract and spend data to identify consolidation opportunities and prepare documents for contract renegotiations or new Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
  • Research and stay informed on sustainable and ethical sourcing initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Support the implementation of new procurement technologies and automation tools to enhance process efficiency.
  • Actively participate in learning and development opportunities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the procurement team.
  • Ensure personal procurement activities comply with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations, promoting integrity and transparency.
  • Keep up to date with industry best practices and contribute ideas for improving Wise's procurement processes.
