As part of the Technology Leadership Program in the Data Scientist track, you’ll apply machine learning, statistical modeling, and AI to solve complex business problems and improve outcomes for our clients. Your work will focus on building and applying models that uncover patterns, predict outcomes, and optimize processes across the enterprise. Through real-world projects and collaboration with business and technology partners, you’ll gain exposure to how advanced analytics enables Vanguard to deliver value at scale. The Technology Leadership Program is a rotational development experience designed for early-career technologists ready to make an impact. Data Scientist participants complete three rotations across Data & Analytics-focused teams, gaining exposure to different domains, tools, and business challenges while increasing ownership, responsibility, and leadership capability over time.

Requirements

  • Master’s, MBA, or relevant advanced degree in Data & Analytics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative or analytical field
  • Strong interest in machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or SQL, and familiarity with analytical or modeling tools
  • Demonstrated leadership potential, initiative, and ability to take ownership of work
  • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply machine learning models and advanced statistical techniques to solve business problems
  • Work with large and complex data sets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities
  • Design experiments, build predictive and prescriptive models, and support model validation efforts
  • Translate business problems into analytical approaches and deliver solutions from concept to implementation
  • Partner with data, engineering, and business teams to drive data-informed decision-making
  • Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Take ownership of projects and contribute to delivering high-impact outcomes
  • Collaborate across teams, share insights, and influence strategic decisions
  • Build a network with program managers, alumni, senior leaders, and peers
  • Meet regularly with your department manager and program manager to receive personalized coaching and mentorship
