From cloud-based platforms to full-stack development, your work will have a direct impact on the experience of millions of investors. Through real-world assignments, technical capstones, and collaborative team environments, you’ll develop the skills needed to solve complex problems and drive meaningful outcomes. Through technical capstones, hackathons, and solution-oriented projects, you’ll strengthen both your technical expertise and leadership capabilities. The Technology Leadership Program is a two-year rotational development experience designed for graduating students ready to begin their careers in technology. Participants complete three eight-month rotations across different IT teams, gaining exposure to diverse technologies, business areas, and challenges while building the skills needed to grow as future technology leaders at Vanguard.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with a concentration in computer science, computer engineering, IST, IT, CIS, or related technical/engineering subject matter required
  • Strong interest in application development, including web, mobile, or backend systems
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and/or leadership aspirations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred

  • Experience with coding languages preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and enhance applications that support Vanguard’s internal systems and client-facing platforms
  • Develop scalable solutions using modern technologies, including cloud, APIs, and full-stack development
  • Take ownership of projects and contribute to delivering high-impact outcomes for the business
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product teams, and business partners
  • Apply Agile methodologies to deliver solutions in a fast-paced, iterative environment
  • Participate in technical capstones, hackathons, and innovation-focused initiatives
  • Build relationships with peers, mentors, and leaders across Vanguard
  • Meet regularly with your department manager and program manager to receive personalized coaching and mentorship
