About The Position

This is a full-time paid internship program spanning ten weeks from June through August 2027. Participation in the internship requires that you are located in the continental United States with in-person attendance at your assigned location, in accordance with Capital One’s hybrid working model, for the duration of the program. Interns will be evaluated for a full-time position within our rotational programs, with start dates six months to one year following the completion of the internship. As a Software Engineer in the Technology Internship Program, you may work on everything from customer-facing web and mobile applications using cutting-edge open source frameworks, to highly-available RESTful services, to back-end Java based systems using the hottest techniques in Big Data. Our engineers work in a "You Build It, You Own It" full stack environment supporting an exciting and innovative tech stack. The Technology Internship Program provides you the framework to develop world-class technical skills and gain a comprehensive understanding of technology. Here is what to expect during your 10 week internship: A challenging role where you’ll collaborate with a diverse and passionate team of talented engineers Experience working with cutting-edge AI coding tools to enhance productivity, accelerate development, and continuously improve code quality Engaging executive speakers and opportunities to interact closely with senior leadership Training & development sessions to build out your skillset on topics such iOS and Android, Web Development, AWS, Open Source Big Data tools, Security, Voice Driven Applications, and more Fun social, networking, and volunteer events with other college interns.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher with an expectation that you will complete your most recent full-time degree program by August 2028 or earlier.
• Must be continuing in the same course of study of your most recent full-time degree program following completion of the internship.
• Must be located in the continental United States.
• Must be able to attend in-person at your assigned location for the duration of the program.
• Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical or quantitative discipline, including computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, and mathematics.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving and conceptual skills.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced programming skills or experience in one or more of the following areas: Go, Kotlin, Python, Java, HTML, Swift, PHP, XML, JSON, UML, JavaScript, SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripts, Objective C, C#, C/C++, Perl,.net, asp.net, Visual Basic.
• Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity, utilizing capabilities beyond basic code completion.
