About The Position

SABIC is looking for talented students to join the Technology Internship Program (Selkirk, NY or Pittsfield, MA) in either Summer 2026 or Summer/Fall 2026. Typical Selkirk, NY assignments include process technology development, lab polymer syntheses, new polymer resins/blends research, characterization of intermediates and final products, and application of advanced materials. The Pittsfield, MA position involves work at SABIC’s Polymer Processing Development Center where you will utilize process studies, prototyping, and application-specific testing to characterize the effects of formulation and processing to final part performance. To be successful in these roles, you should have a scientific mindset that can be applied to real development activities, as well as strong presentation and written communication skills.

Requirements

  • Work in a safe and compliant manner
  • Currently working towards Bachelor, Master’s or PhD degree.
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0/4.0
  • Candidates shall be students in one of the following fields of study: Chemical Engineering Materials/Polymer Engineering Chemistry Or related fields
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other team members on project assignments and gain technical experience under their guidance.
  • Document experimental results for internal technical reports, external publications, and presentations.
  • Apply scientific fundamentals to perform research, experimentation, analysis, and the interpretation of results.
