Technology Engineer Senior- Android Developer
About The Position
Leads in the development of the most complex new and emerging technologies and selects appropriate platforms, integrates and configures solutions. Leverages technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions. Develops software components and hardware for new and emerging technology projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives. Consults junior staff regarding complex issues and best practices. Provides a systematic analysis on the most complex client requirements within the traceability framework and resolves any functional problems encountered. Oversees the quality of complex project deliverables while ensuring that they are in compliance with relevant standards and processes.
Requirements
- Proficiency and comfort with Kotlin and Java
- Comfortable working directly with Gradle commands and build.gradle.kts files
- Familiar with "legacy" Android Views Framework and XML
- Understanding of general APK and AAR build process, including sourceSets across BuildVariants
- Mastery of SOLID development techniques, Unidirectional Data Flow paradigms, and Reactive programming
- Awareness of Dependency Injection and management
- RxJava 3+ and/or Kotlin Coroutines
- Experience using (and maintaining) standard Android testing suites (JUnit4, Espresso, etc...)
- Confidence with using/learning TalkBack and Switch Access for Accessibility efforts
- University / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
Nice To Haves
- Git functionality (i.e. - creating branches, adding commits, pushing changes, pulling updates, etc...)
- Terminal (or equivalent) familiarity (i.e. - open/use it, navigate around, invoke basic commands, etc...)
