About The Position

Facilitate the effective use of mobile devices, computers, and other technology in instructional programs district-wide. Assist in the development of short and long-term plans for the integration of technology into the instructional program. Implement and coordinate technology-focused staff development and training programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Expertise in the integration of technology into teaching and learning
  • Expertise in the Technology Application TEKS
  • Knowledge of Canvas
  • Knowledge of Seesaw
  • Knowledge of MDM Systems
  • Knowledge of Apple computer hardware and software applications
  • Knowledge of technologies available for use in instructional setting
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
  • Ability to develop and deliver technology training to adult learners
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Three years teaching experience minimum in education
  • Three years experience working with computer hardware and instructional software applications

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of mobile device integration preferred
  • Two years of mobile device curriculum development preferred

Responsibilities

  • Mobile Instruction: Focus on iPads for content delivery, lesson integration, and promoting their use in the classroom.
  • Staff Development: Provide leadership and technical expertise to principals and teachers in planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional technology. Coordinate staff development plans and provide training on hardware and software applications. Analyze and evaluate technology integration at classroom, campus, and district levels.
  • Curriculum Development: Model and co-teach technology-based lessons. Share effective technical and instructional strategies with teachers. Coordinate the writing of curriculum for technology programs and monitor the instructional process. Disseminate information on technology education research. Develop and implement program evaluations. Design instructional modules, materials, and training aids. Assist in integrating technology into existing curriculum. Meet with grade level teams to create integration lessons/projects. Showcase "promising practices" on the district web page. Act as a liaison with the district technology department.
  • Budget and Inventory: Assist in budgeting and monitoring campus technology expenditures. Monitor purchase and legal use of software. Assist with the organization and distribution of technology materials. Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of hardware, software, and computer lab materials.
