About The Position

We are looking for an analytics engineering lead, Vice President, reporting to the VP responsible for product, tooling, and transformation within the Global Technology Services Financial Operations Office. This role owns the data and analytics products that make technology cost transparent and actionable, with near-term focus on Technology Financial Management and Total Cost of Ownership, including cost transparency, showback, and progressive chargeback, and Cloud FinOps, including multi-cloud spend, optimization signals, and commitment utilization. This role owns the data and analytics products behind State Street's technology cost management and Cloud FinOps capabilities, deciding how cost, cloud, and infrastructure data is modeled, governed, and delivered for technology leaders and finance partners. Success is measured by platforms in production, leadership reporting used without side reconciliation, manual spreadsheets retired, and results that hold up to scrutiny. The lead will determine how data is modeled, how the platform is architected and governed, what should be built or bought, and which standards others must follow.

Requirements

  • Analytics engineering discipline across data modeling, transformation, ingestion, and governed release, applied to cost and financial data.
  • Ability to connect engineering rigor with financial questions leaders ask, while clearly separating actuals, forecasts, assumptions, and estimates.
  • Clear communication with subject matter experts, finance partners, and senior leaders, including explaining trade-offs and validating outputs in plain language.
  • Comfort across functions and cost domains, resolving ambiguity where definitions, source data, and ownership are still maturing.
  • Independence to own a platform outright, set direction and standards, make architecture and tooling decisions, guide others, and maintain exacting standards for governance and auditability.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Experience owning a platform or product outright, setting development standards, and directing supporting analysts, developers, and vendor resources.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering governed data and analytics solutions on enterprise analytics engineering stack and/or Microsoft Fabric and the broader Power Platform ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience with ingestion and refresh across heterogeneous source systems, plus SQL, Python, APIs, and lakehouse and data warehouse engineering.
  • Strong data and semantic modeling skills across multiple source systems, with proficiency in DAX and transformation tooling such as Power Query or equivalent.
  • Practical command of security and access control for analytics platforms, including row-level and role-based access appropriate to sensitive financial data.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure, cloud, SaaS, CMDB, service catalog, application inventory, or product taxonomy data, and with SDLC and end-user developed tool governance practices.
  • Track record of lineage, documentation, controlled release, validation, and exception reporting that meets auditability and control requirements.
  • Experience with IT financial management, Cloud FinOps, and total cost of ownership data, including cloud provider billing and cost export formats for major public cloud.
  • Familiarity with Cloud FinOps frameworks, TBM taxonomy or comparable cost frameworks, commitment-based discount management, or cloud rate optimization concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud cost management, FinOps, and IT financial management vendor platforms preferred, whether as data sources or delivery platforms.
  • Experience working in financial services or another regulated enterprise environment preferred.
  • Strong partnership across the Financial Operations and Technology Business Offices leadership; FinOps and cost management teams; infrastructure, cloud, application, Finance, Procurement, and service management source-data owners; vendors; and architecture, security, and audit functions.
  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed environment where requirements, definitions, and source data are still maturing.

Responsibilities

  • Own the cost intelligence data platforms end to end across technology financial management, total cost of ownership, Cloud FinOps, and future capabilities.
  • Design governed data models and semantic layers that turn cost allocations, infrastructure inventory, cloud billing exports, and commitment schedules into consistent, reusable business measures.
  • Design and operate ingestion, transformation, and refresh across source systems, normalizing keys, schemas, and formats and partnering with source-data owners to enable new feeds.
  • Author and maintain calculation logic in languages such as DAX, keeping deterministic results separate from estimates, forecasts, and advisory scoring.
  • Define and enforce the security and access model, including row-level and role-based access appropriate to sensitive financial data.
  • Maintain lineage, documentation, definitions, versioning, testing, controlled promotion, validation, and exception reporting.
  • Run each product with a roadmap, backlog, and support model covering triage, production stability, and continuous improvement, keeping the platform current as source systems and cost taxonomies evolve.
  • Set architecture and standards for vendor platforms, surge build capacity, analysts, and developers, and partner with finance and FinOps teams to translate methodology into implemented logic.

Benefits

  • our retirement savings plan (401K) with company match
  • insurance coverage including basic life, medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and other optional additional coverages
  • paid-time off including vacation, sick leave, short term disability, and family care responsibilities
  • access to our Employee Assistance Program
  • incentive compensation including eligibility for annual performance-based awards (excluding certain sales roles subject to sales incentive plans)
  • eligibility for certain tax advantaged savings plans
  • inclusive development opportunities
  • flexible work-life support
  • paid volunteer days
  • vibrant employee networks
