About The Position

At TELUS Security, we strive to deliver innovative security solutions by leveraging top talent. The Enterprise Information Security, Compliance, Public Sector team is responsible for ensuring TELUS complies with contractual security requirements in successful proposals. The types of contracts we enter into relate to federal and provincial governments or other Crown corporations. The work of the Public Sector Compliance team has a direct impact on improving the security and privacy of TELUS customers and the communities in which we work. To succeed, we must improve the customer experience related to TELUS services, ensure they meet security standards, and prevent TELUS from bearing the cost of incident response and recovery activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or professional designation in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Security.
  • Mastery of French and English, both oral and written (non-negotiable).
  • Professional designation such as CISSP, CCSP, or CISM from recognized security institutes like SANS, ISC2, and ISACA.
  • At least 5 years of experience in information security consulting, compliance, or audit.
  • 5 or more years of experience in IT security management (system cliché, logs, technical documentation).
  • Experience working with the SharePoint platform and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience communicating cybersecurity requirements, change requests, and reports to clients.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: IP networks, cloud computing, or telecommunications.
  • Proven ability to work in a team and manage tasks independently with a results-oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of ITIL or certification in this area.
  • Experience with governance, risk, and compliance solutions and compliance tools.
  • Experience in process automation (VBA, Python, GPT, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze needs and provide tailored advice on proposal contractual terms and cybersecurity best practices across our service offering.
  • Identify stakeholders across the service offering who are impacted by proposals.
  • Formulate specific and proactive recommendations for the implementation of cybersecurity controls and procedures to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Determine, implement, maintain, and update critical security controls to enhance the overall security posture for proposal programs.
  • Lead gap assessment, risk assessment, internal audit, compliance readiness, and compliance control activities.
  • Define strategic direction for audit readiness, manage compliance programs, conduct continuous improvement activities, and provide metrics.
  • Document and provide processes, procedures, and guides regarding cybersecurity contractual requirements.
  • Liaise with consultants and auditors regarding the implementation and impact of controls, and establish considerations for applying security and compliance concepts to specific contracts.
  • Communicate compliance program findings to a broad audience, including assessment status, workflow, remediation actions, and reports.
  • Support the completion of audit steps to ensure deadlines are met by proactively coordinating the removal of obstacles and risks of non-compliance once identified.
