About The Position

The Sr. Technology Architect will provide the capacity required to deliver on the Cloud Access Security Platforms & Proactive Risk Management pillars of the Cyber Security Strategy. In this role the resource will provide lead architecture and strategy guidance for the Ontario Government SSE and network security modernization projects. This includes assisting with the implementation and support of SSE technology platforms across multiple environments and varying OS types. The role also involves providing operational support, deployment coordination, change management, and documentation of new and existing SASE security technologies. The architect will work effectively with other Security teams and external partners to assist in engineering and supporting SASE platforms that align with organizational and strategic goals, and work with vendors of supported products to report issues, assist with research and manage until resolved. The role requires creating documentation to ensure appropriate operational process and procedures are followed in the event of business impacting incidents or issues. Additionally, the architect will provide integration support and development effort on design related changes or introduction of new business requirements to network-security related technology platforms. The architect will develop, recommend, implement and manage the technical architecture (hardware, software, database and communications) which will be used for all or specific applications in a large, distributed cross-platform environment. They will be responsible for the identification of relevant information and the determination of the environment, which will be used for development. The role also includes responsibility for the engineering and operational support for the Ontario Government Network-security focused projects, including assisting with implementation and continued improvements on Palo Alto Prisma Access, Radware Web Application Firewall (WAF), and Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) technology platforms. The architect will also provide integration support and development effort on design related changes or introduction of new business requirements to network-security related technology platforms.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Network Security technology: Palo Alto Prisma Access, Radware Web Application Firewall (WAF), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Firewall Policy Management, Cloud Infrastructure network architecture e.g. cloud security groups and network access control lists.
  • Experience working on agile project delivery teams.
  • Working Experience with Backlog, User Stories, Scrum, Sprints.
  • Experience developing solution design and architecture documents.
  • Experience with TOGAF Architectural Framework.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess strong knowledge of MITRE and SSE development and configuration.
  • Previous Public Sector work experience is considered a positive.
  • Leadership experience in the development and implementation of technical security architectures at the specified experience level.
  • Extensive experience with enterprise security services, Identity and database technologies, and network access protocols.
  • Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development and implementation of cloud applications.
  • Extensive experience in systems analysis and design in large secure solution environments.
