About The Position

The Technology Apprentice Program at The Cigna Group is a full-time, 16-week immersive experience designed to cultivate future technical talent in the software engineering and application development space. Through real-world projects, collaborative engagement, and guided development, apprentices will grow their skills, build lasting connections, and confidently launch their careers in technology. The program includes a comprehensive onboarding experience, development workshops, trainings, and continued education options. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience solving real-world challenges, deepen their technical skills, and work alongside experienced software and/or application developers to build, test, and maintain applications.

Requirements

Completion of an Associate’s degree in software development, computer science, or a related technology field OR Graduation from a technical bootcamp focused on full-stack development, front-end/back-end engineering, or app development OR Completion of a recognized technical certification from a recognized technical organization/institution (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Oracle) with hands-on experience applying those skills in real-world projects.
Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, JavaScript, .NET, Kotlin, Typescript, C#, Python, Go.
Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, version control systems (Git) and basic debugging techniques.
Basic understanding of programming concepts (variables, loops, functions).
Familiarity with web development fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Must be available to work a 40-hour work week.
Must be eligible for employment in the United States and not require visa support now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

Experience with agile methodologies, team-based development, or open-source contributions is a plus.
