ESi Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) is an engineering and scientific investigation and failure analysis firm. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Familiarity with Shop, Lab, and Field Environments
  • Fabrication Skills: Fixturing, Welding, Tooling
  • Experience with power tools: Drills, Bandsaws, Mill, Lathe
  • Intermediate skills in Excel and Intermediate skills in Word; Internet software skills.
  • Will be working on advanced-level software products to operate equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Laser Scanning (Faro Scene) preferred
  • UAS Remote Pilot Certificate (FAA Part 107) preferred
  • Experience handling artifacts preferred
  • Knowledge of digital photography and image handling a plus
  • Computer graphics experience a plus.
  • CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Design X)
  • Prior knowledge of these systems is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support laboratory and field testing activities, including setup, execution, and breakdown of tests and inspections.
  • Occasional Travel to incident locations to document scenes, collect artifacts, and support field investigations as needed.
  • Assist with technical reporting, data organization, and general project documentation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, organization, and workflow across lab and artifact operations.
  • Assists Engineering and Technical staff in tests development, calibration of equipment, and general support.
  • Support inspections and projects through hands-on assistance, documentation, and data collection across shop, lab, and field environments.
  • Capable of communicating/working directly with internal and external clients.
  • Perform hands-on fabrication, modification, and repair of test equipment and fixtures and experimental setups.
  • Build, assemble, and support custom test configurations and laboratory activities.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain laboratory and shop equipment using practical, hands-on problem solving.
  • Own and manage evidentiary materials which include proper handling, packing documentation and adherence to established protocols.
  • Responsible for the receipt, retention, and disposition of artifacts including coordination of shipping with clients and external vendors.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of the of electronic artifact handling database with near real-time data entry.
  • Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment for testing and evaluations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, inventory, and operational readiness of all facility areas, including indoor spaces and outdoor grounds, ensuring a safe, functional, and professional environment.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration, repair, and vendor support for facility operations.
  • Support a wide range of activities across shop, lab, field, and office environments as needed to meet project and business demands.
