About The Position

Operates imaging equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease.

Requirements

• Experience as obtained through the completion of an Ultrasound program.
• Completion of a formal education program in sonography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARDMS or ARRT or CCI.
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Imaging principals/theory.
• Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
• Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work
• Registered by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS),or American Registry of Radiology Technologists ARRT (S), or ARRT (VS), or ARRT (BS), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International CCI RVS
• BLS Certification within 14 days of hire
• New graduate will obtain required registry within 120 days as required
• State license as required

Responsibilities

• Performs imaging procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
• Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
• Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
