About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join its team in Phoenix, Arizona. New graduates are welcome, and full training is provided. The role performs laboratory testing and related technical work to support accurate, timely results and quality patient care. The work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Nice To Haves

Current or prior Labcorp experience.
Three months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
ASCP or AMT certification.

Responsibilities

Determine whether specimens are acceptable for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with specimen processing when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
