About The Position

Duly Health and Care is seeking a part-time Mammography Technologist to join their collaborative, physician-led team. This role involves performing mammography procedures, assisting in patient diagnosis and cancer screening, and supporting department operations. The technologist will work under the supervision of the Manager and Breast Radiologist, utilizing independent judgment and a comprehensive understanding of breast imaging. The position is part-time, requiring 2-3 days per week with specific afternoon hours, and offers availability at multiple locations. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with advanced certification in Mammography is required.
  • Active ARRT certification status maintained by fulfilling continuing education requirements.
  • Illinois State Licensure (IEMA)
  • CPR Certification
  • Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to present required.
  • Knowledge of computer-based applications, email and standard applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge and skills of a mammography technologist and can perform the daily tasks and duties of a technologist, including patient care and completion of clinical exams

Nice To Haves

  • Mammography experience preferred but not required
  • Stereotactic biopsy experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform mammography procedures in a technically proficient manner, following department protocols and radiologist direction.
  • Corroborate patient's clinical history with the procedure, documenting information according to department standards.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to achieve desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  • Select and operate breast imaging equipment and associated devices.
  • Position patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, explaining the need for breast compression while respecting patient comfort.
  • Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure.
  • Experience with stereotactic biopsies and/or willingness to be trained to assist with this procedure.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Maintain positive work relationships with co-workers, physicians, and other health care team members.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
  • Maintenance of supplies needed to ensure adequate levels within the department.
