About The Position

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist I / II performs moderate to high complexity testing in a regulated clinical laboratory environment. Role level is determined based on experience and demonstrated competencies. This role offers a consistent 4-day workweek (4x10s) on the night shift, providing greater flexibility than traditional graveyard schedules. It is a well-supported night shift role with clear procedures and escalation processes, primarily involving routine testing with STAT testing also included. The position offers opportunities to work across infectious disease testing, including serological assays (EIA/ELISA) and nucleic acid testing, with hands-on experience in validations, method changes, and working in a highly regulated laboratory environment. There is supportive day-to-day supervision with clearly defined role levels and opportunities for advancement and skill development.

Requirements

  • Active California Generalist CLS license in good standing (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related science
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on night shift

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and automated infectious disease testing, including serological assays (EIA/ELISA) and nucleic acid testing
  • Analyze, validate, document, and report patient test results
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Perform quality control, reagent preparation, documentation, and recordkeeping
  • Participate in validations, method changes, and special projects as assigned
  • Adhere to Quality Assurance, HIPAA, safety, and turnaround-time requirements
