About The Position

As the largest and busiest Transfusion Medicine department in New York, we set the standard for our field. Within our Cellular Biotherapies Laboratory Division, Technologists perform complex cellular therapy processing, cryopreservation, product evaluation, and quality assessment procedures that require exceptional technical expertise and meticulous attention to detail. The laboratory performs highly specialized procedures to prepare cellular therapy products while ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. Technologists play a crucial role in supporting cellular therapy treatments through product processing, collaboration with a multidisciplinary clinical team, and adherence to rigorous regulatory and quality standards. There are abundant opportunities to participate in research, validation, and process improvement initiatives that advance the field of cellular therapy. The work in this laboratory requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to work independently while handling irreplaceable, patient-specific products. This is a day shift position 10:00am-6:00pm, located at our Weill Cornell Medical Center located on Manhattan’s East side.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent experience)
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently while handling irreplaceable, patient-specific products
  • Live within a commutable distance to NYP

Nice To Haves

  • ASCP certification
  • Transfusion Medicine or Cellular Therapy experience
