Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
  • If required by the state, the appropriate state license to perform clinical laboratory testing
  • Minimum 1 years of related experience preferred
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology
  • Knowledge of chemistry, biology, and bacteriology as related to medical technology
  • Knowledge of recent developments in medical technology
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures and make accurate observations and records of test results
  • Skill in using medical laboratory equipment
  • Strong communication skills and analytical thinking
  • Performs instrument maintenance
  • Competent to perform routine testing for many tests performed within the department

Responsibilities

  • Following prescribed procedures and performing tests within any laboratory specialty; calculating results as necessary
  • Operating, calibrating, conducting performance checks, and maintaining laboratory analyzers or equipment
  • Recognizing and correcting basic analyzer malfunctions; notifying management when appropriate
  • Preparing reagents or media from prescribed procedures
  • Evaluating media, reagents, and calibrators according to established criteria
  • Conducting quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluating QC results and implementing corrective action when needed
  • Determining performance specifications for new methods
  • Performing instrument maintenance, QC reagents, and kits
  • Performing routine testing including assay validations
  • Confirming and verifying results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and analyzers
  • Monitoring quality assurance/continuous improvement programs
  • Monitoring safety programs in compliance with laboratory regulations
  • Using laboratory information systems or other methods to accurately and effectively report patient results
  • Reviewing and following Standard Operating Procedures
  • Reporting test results according to established procedures
  • Supporting Eurofins DPT’s business philosophy, leadership values, and ethics
  • Meeting Eurofins DPT’s quality policy and objectives, including good workmanship, adherence to SOPs, training, good documentation practices, and accurate recordkeeping
  • Performs freezer, refrigerator, and incubator maintenance
  • Performs QC reagents needed for patient testing
