Technologist Assistant - Full Time Days
About The Position
This position supports and assists technologists in the care of patients within the X-Ray, Mammography, and Ultrasound departments. The role involves escorting patients, verifying information, maintaining confidentiality, assisting with patient changes for studies, daily computer use, monitoring work lists, printing/scanning documents, stocking and cleaning the work area, releasing images, and communicating with various stakeholders including radiologists, technologists, patients, and referring physician offices. The assistant may also train as a Reading Room Assistant and cross-train in other departments as support staff. A professional image, punctuality, and regular attendance are expected.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multitask in a busy work environment
- Good computer skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, their family members, co-workers, and referring physicians’ offices

- Prior experience in a medical setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Escort patients from main waiting area to department for studies
- Review and verify patient’s information for accuracy
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations
- Have patient change; if indicated for study
- Daily computer keyboard use
- Monitor modality work list
- Print and/or scan documents into patient accounts
- Keep the work area stocked, orderly and clean
- Release images to patients when necessary
- Communicate information to radiologists, technologists, patients and referring physician offices
- Train in the Reading Room as a Reading Room Assistant, as applicable
- Cross train in other department as support staff
- Display a well-groomed professional image
- Punctuality and regular attendance
- All other duties as assigned
