We can’t wait to meet you! The Technologist Assistant supports the delivery of high-quality imaging services by ensuring patients are prepared, comfortable, and safely guided through their visit. This role plays a key part in creating a positive patient experience while supporting clinical staff and maintaining efficient exam room operations. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, efficient, and patient-centered imaging environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior healthcare or patient-facing experience strongly preferred
- IV certification or willingness to obtain, depending on role requirements
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required (or obtained within defined timeframe upon hire)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with patients ranging from routine to critically ill
- Basic understanding of healthcare practices and patient care procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and work within established guidelines
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Team-oriented with a focus on patient-centered care
Responsibilities
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms, ensuring safety, comfort, and timely flow
- Prepare patients for imaging exams by providing instructions and directing them to dressing areas as needed, positioning, and providing clear instructions regarding the exam
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, including cleaning, stocking, and readiness for patient care
- Support technologists and clinical staff with patient positioning and basic procedural assistance
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients across a wide range of health conditions
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times
- Follow established protocols, workflows, and safety guidelines
- Assist with starting IVs when required, based on modality and training
- Identify and escalate patient concerns or operational issues as appropriate
- Responsibilities may evolve based on operational needs and patient care priorities.
