About The Position
To support and assist technologists in the care of patients during their Mammogram, Ultrasound and DEXA scans. This role involves escorting patients, verifying information, maintaining confidentiality, managing patient changes for studies, using computer systems for modality work lists and documentation, keeping the work area clean and stocked, communicating with various medical professionals and offices, and cross-training in other departments. The position requires a professional image, punctuality, and regular attendance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multitask in a busy work environment
- Good computer skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, their family members, co-workers, and referring physicians’ offices
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in a medical setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Escort patients from main waiting area to department for studies
- Review and verify patient’s information for accuracy
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations
- Have patient change; if indicated for study
- Daily computer keyboard use
- Monitor modality work list
- Print and/or scan documents into patient accounts
- Keep the work area stocked, orderly and clean
- Release images to patients when necessary
- Communicate information to radiologists, technologists, patients and referring physician offices
- Cross train in other department as support staff
- Display a well-groomed professional image
- Punctuality and regular attendance
- All other duties as assigned
