About The Position

Vet et Nous is a multidisciplinary team composed of veterinarian both generalists and specialists operating at high rank whose mission is to take care of client’s pets as if they were our own. Our teams are split in 3 emergency and reference centres open 24/7 and several general practice hospitals and clinics in the greater Montreal, Laval, Montérégie, Laurentides, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean and Quebec region. Our establishments offer complete services for owners of dogs, cats, birds and exotic animals. In collaboration with the veterinarian, you play an important role with our clients as you will give them advice or reassure them about the condition of their four-legged companion. You work directly with our veterinarians, our assistant technicians and our animal caretakers to ensure the well-being of the animals under our responsibility. Under the supervision of the veterinarian in charge, you ensure the smooth operation and workflow of the department to provide quality service and care to clients and patients. This is a permanent, full-time position. The schedule is variable, including days, evenings, and weekends, depending on the operational needs of the establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the veterinarian during client consultations (pre-consultation, TPR, restraint, helping to fill out the file, post-consultation)
  • Preparation for surgical procedures (surgical rooms, anesthesia preparation, equipment, etc.)
  • Blood tests
  • Admissions and discharges for surgical procedures (patient discharge preparation, client meetings)
  • Procedures (dental cleanings, taking radiographs, etc.)
  • Administer treatments to hospitalized animals as prescribed by veterinarians
  • Ensure excellent customer service, respond to client information requests and follow up as needed (post-consultation/treatment or hospitalization follow-ups, sending reports, taking calls)
  • Schedule follow-up appointments
  • Provide nutritional advice to clients
  • Participate in meetings or training sessions, allowing you to acquire knowledge that can be useful for answering client questions and assisting colleagues, as well as for keeping up with advances in the veterinary medical field
  • Work in close collaboration with the customer service representative, the assistant technician, and the animal caretaker
  • Perform all other related tasks
