About The Position

Vet et Nous is a multidisciplinary team composed of veterinarians, both generalists and specialists, operating at a high rank, whose mission is to take care of clients' pets as if they were our own. Our teams are spread across three emergency and reference centers open 24/7 and several general practice hospitals and clinics in the greater Montreal, Laval, Montérégie, Laurentides, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, and Quebec regions. Our facilities offer comprehensive services for owners of dogs, cats, birds, and exotic animals. In collaboration with the veterinarian, you play an important role with our clients by providing advice or reassurance about the condition of their companion. You work directly with our veterinarians, assistant technicians, and animal caretakers to ensure the well-being of the animals under our care. Under the supervision of the responsible veterinarian, you ensure the smooth operation and workflow of the department to provide quality service and care to clients and patients. This is a permanent, full-time position with a variable schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends, depending on the operational needs of the establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the veterinarian during client consultations (pre-consultation, TPR, restraint, helping to fill out the file, post-consultation)
  • Prepare for surgical procedures (surgical rooms, anesthesia preparation, equipment, etc.)
  • Perform blood tests
  • Manage admissions and discharges for surgical procedures (patient discharge preparation, client meetings)
  • Perform procedures (dental cleanings, taking radiographs, etc.)
  • Administer treatments to hospitalized animals as prescribed by veterinarians
  • Ensure excellent customer service, respond to client information requests, and perform necessary follow-ups (post-consultation/treatment or hospitalization follow-ups, sending reports, taking calls)
  • Schedule follow-up appointments
  • Provide nutrition advice to clients
  • Participate in offered meetings or training sessions to acquire knowledge useful for answering client questions, assisting colleagues, and staying updated on advancements in veterinary medicine
  • Work in close collaboration with the customer service representative, assistant technician, and animal caretaker
  • Perform all other related tasks
