About The Position

This role is located at ALS Géochimie, Québec and works under the supervision of the Pyroanalysis Supervisor. The general responsibility involves sample/flux mixing, fusions, and cupellation.

Requirements

• Excellent communication in French (written and verbal); English would be an asset.
• Prepares and presents information in an orderly and instructive manner.
• Capable of controlling the chemical reactions of a fire assay.
• Attention to detail.
• Promotes safety.
• Highly motivated, autonomous, and able to work in a team.
• 2 years of experience or a diploma in chemistry.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (assistance from another employee/lifting equipment is mandatory if the amount exceeds 50 pounds).
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to act with tact and diplomacy.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in sample preparation for fire assays or knowledge in geology would be assets.

Responsibilities

• All tasks of the FA2
• Under the supervision of the supervisor and FT2, ensures and coordinates production activities and manages the work team to achieve production, quality, and health and safety results.
• Has technical knowledge of pyroanalysis.
• Can mix difficult samples such as carbonates and concentrates.
• Performs cupellations.
• Handles dosing.
• Makes judgments on the quality of functions.
• Begins to select re-analyses.
• Correct application of products and methods in accordance with standards.
• Familiar with all safety rules.
• Other tasks assigned by the director, assistant director, or supervisors.
