We are seeking a talented and skilled Field Installation and Service Technician to install, service, survey, inspect and maintain inventory control and video equipment in retail environments.

Requirements

  • Must reside in Gatineau or Ottawa.
  • Associate degree in Electronics and/or Networking, or technical equivalent required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • 2 years of prior work experience in a related field.
  • Basic training and certification in Video Management Systems (VMS).
  • Highly organized, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • General electronics knowledge and mechanical aptitude to be able to use hand and power tools.
  • Provincial License, or willingness to obtain (as required).
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Experience interpreting blueprints, technical documents, scope of work and meet deadlines.
  • Network troubleshooting experience and solid understanding of operating systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Proficient with MS Office and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • Fluent English language required. Excellent written and verbal communication, demonstrated superior people and telephone skills, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure are essential

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of building construction and inventory management/EAS technology.
  • Certified in Video Platforms, EAS & RFID solutions commonly installed and serviced by Retail
  • Networking Fundamentals knowledge; network certification is a plus.
  • TRS - Networking 101
  • Experience servicing integrated solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, maintain and inspect retail products and equipment - including CCTV, access control systems, and Sensormatic products.
  • Manage your service calls and documentation via company systems (computer/mobile), including products serviced, work performed, hours, and parts utilized.
  • Maintain an accurate parts inventory at levels that ensure a first-time fix.
  • Demonstrate and train customers on proper use of installed equipment.
  • Communicate customer satisfaction feedback, potential sales opportunities, or recurring issues with your manager.
  • Conduct site surveys to support proposal generation.
  • Travel to customers locations as required. Occasional out of town travel, weekend and night work as required.
  • Interact with customers and internal employees in a professional manner.
  • Participate in ongoing training and maintain certifications.
  • Maintain company provided service vehicle as required.
  • Comply with all Sensormatic Canada Inc. policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Faire l’installation et service des produits SEA et autre.
  • Faire des relevés chez les clients pour soumettre aux ventes les produits que ceux-ci ont besoin.
  • Remplir la feuille d’installation ou service chez chaque client et la transmettre après chaque appel.
  • Programmer et ajuster les systèmes SEA et vidéo avec les outils fournis
  • Voyager vers le commerce, avec le camion fournis, pour faire l’installation ou service, avoir un permis de conduire Quebec.
  • Parfois, dormir à l’extérieur et travailler de soir lorsque l’installation le requiert.
  • Interagir avec le client et ces compagnons de travail de façon professionnel.
  • Compléter les cours obligatoires.
  • S’assurer que son véhicule est entretenu selon les recommandations.
  • S’assurer que son inventaire est à jour dans son véhicule et faire les demandes de remplacement après chaque client lorsqu’une pièce est utilisé.
  • Fournir une formation de base du produit installé au client lorsque nécessaire.
  • S’assurer de suivre les règles et procédures établies par Sensormatic Canada Inc.
