About The Position

Holt of California is proud to be part of the elite group of Caterpillar dealers worldwide. We sell, rent and service a wide-variety of equipment Including Large and Small Construction Tractors, Forklifts, and Prime/Stand-by-Power Generation. THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN MERCED, CA. Repairs and maintains all types of rental equipment, which includes driving to machine location.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of ignition system, lights, and instrument panels.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to write service reports.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• High school or GED and/or five years of equipment experience are required.
• Must have a valid driver license class C or higher.
• Must have a clean D.M.V. report.

Responsibilities

• Drives to machine location.
• Handles all types of field service calls.
• Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear.
• Repairs, overhauls, or replaces: Pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
• Replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, starters, pumps, and distributors.
• Repair leaks in radiator.
• Repair or adjust headlights, radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
• Realigns and adjusts brakes.
• Writes service reports.
• Orders parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
