About The Position

The Technician - Truck Shop Ford plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing Ford trucks to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability. This position involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and executing complex repairs using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment. The technician will work closely with service advisors and customers to communicate vehicle conditions and recommend necessary services. Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards are paramount to prevent breakdowns and extend vehicle lifespan. Ultimately, this role contributes to customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality workmanship and timely service in a professional truck shop environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal automotive or diesel technician training program.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience working as a technician in a truck or heavy vehicle repair shop.
  • Strong understanding of Ford truck systems and components.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification, particularly in truck or medium/heavy truck specialties.
  • Experience with Ford-specific diagnostic software and tools.
  • Prior experience working in a dealership or authorized Ford service center.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to explain technical issues clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough inspections and diagnostics on Ford trucks to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and fluid replacements.
  • Repair or replace defective parts including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension components following manufacturer specifications.
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic tools and service manuals to troubleshoot and resolve complex vehicle problems.
  • Maintain accurate service records and communicate repair status and recommendations to service advisors and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations during all repair and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and support a productive and organized shop environment.
