As a Fire Sprinkler Technician Trainee / Helper, you will assist the Fire Sprinkler Service Technicians to perform service, repairs, and inspections associated with fire sprinkler systems and other water-based equipment in accordance with all national and local standards. Our Fire Sprinkler Service Technician specialized skills, knowledge surround state/federal regulations, and commitment to proper system functioning play a critical role in safeguarding lives, property, and businesses from the devastating effects of fires.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Must be mechanically and/or electrically inclined
  • Must be willing and able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
  • The ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our technicians and customers
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the company
  • Willingness and ability to follow and maintain highly structured schedules
  • Customer-facing and customer service skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program

Responsibilities

  • Assist with or perform installation, repair, and maintenance of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, backflow preventers, fire hydrants, underground and fire pumps.
  • Work well with others, take ownership, be a team player, and act with integrity.
  • Assist with or perform fire sprinkler, fire pump and other water-based equipment inspections and testing.
  • Properly document deficiencies/impairments noted during inspections or service work and follow required process of reporting deficiencies while on-site.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all work performed.
  • Generate reports within Siemens digital tools.
  • Complete service ticket documentation before leaving customer site to include customer signature.
  • Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operations and assist with training.
  • Work the on-call rotation and overtime when needed.
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
