About The Position

Candu Energy Inc., an AtkinsRéalis company, is currently looking for a Technician/Technologist – Developing to join our engineering team in Sheridan Park, Mississauga, Ontario. Functionally reporting to the Candu Field Services Team, the Mechanical Technologist would support one of the various Reactor Inspection projects occurring on domestic or international CANDU Reactors. Significant travel should be expected. Your role Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures and policies. Assist in troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing and assembly of nuclear inspection equipment. Assist in testing programs. Prepare route sheets and edit documents. Complete prioritized work requests on time. Become a nuclear energy worker (NEW). Be willing to travel to vendor and project sites. Support shift work (day/night), if required. Expected to act with professionalism, respect, and accountability in a team setting. Travel to vendor and project sites. (Duration of assignments can vary).

Requirements

  • College Diploma in mechanical technology or relevant technical experience.
  • Working experience between 1 and 3 years in mechanical design/testing/manufacturing sector.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Microsoft Word/Excel.
  • Familiarity with the Design & Development section of ISO 9001 standards.
  • Demonstrate manual skills and dexterity.
  • Must be “Team” Oriented with a demonstrated ability to work well with others and promote a positive work environment.
  • Knowledge of established engineering design principles and methods.
  • Have a basic working knowledge of shop practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, efficient and effective communication (written and oral) and organization skills are essential.
  • Security Clearance will be required.
  • Passport needed for international travel.
