About The Position

To clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble and sterilize instruments for Surgical Services and other departments. To clean, assemble, inspect and distribute patient care equipment. To perform other duties to facilitate departmental operations. Demonstrates superior technical skills and knowledge of all Sterile Processing functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a Sterile Processing Technician Training Program, including 400 hours of hands-on experience in an SPD setting, is required.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required within two years of hire.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble and sterilize instruments for Surgical Services and other departments.
• Clean, assemble, inspect and distribute patient care equipment.
• Perform other duties to facilitate departmental operations.
• Demonstrate superior technical skills and knowledge of all Sterile Processing functions.
• Demonstrate competency in cleaning and disinfecting surgical instruments.
• Demonstrate competency in assembling and packaging instrument trays.
• Demonstrate competency in operating sterilization equipment (autoclaves, HLD systems).
• Adhere to regulatory standards, including AAMI, CDC, OSHA, DNV, and AORN.
