About The Position

Responsible for ensuring products are packaged safely and accurately for shipment in accordance with company standards and customer specifications. This role includes inspecting, labeling, sealing, and packing items, as well as operating various equipment and machinery as needed. Workers are expected to perform thorough quality inspections to maintain accuracy and product integrity, while also completing all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. The work environment is climate-controlled but can be noisy, with frequent heavy forklift traffic. Workers work collaboratively with others to ensure production is maintained at the required pace throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • Must be able to maintain good attendance including working overtime as required
  • Must be able to safely and effectively operate in an industrial environment
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend work instructions, communications, policies, job safety analysis, etc.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to reason, analyze and trouble shoot issues on the job
  • Must be able to work as a team member, including but not limited to resolving issues as part of a team, and get along with co-workers
  • Must be able to consistently meet production, safety and quality standards
  • Must be able to safely and effectively perform all functions of the job as described in the physical job analysis
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as described in the standardized work instructions
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Inspect products for quality and accuracy prior to packaging
  • Label, seal, and pack items according to specifications
  • Operate packaging equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
  • Maintain compliance with company standards and customer requirements
  • Assist with inventory management as needed
  • Enter production order information into the system
  • Retrieve parts from the presentation area and transport them to the workstation
  • Place parts into automated bowls that feed items into bags and/or manually feed into bags as required
  • Perform a first-piece inspection at the start of each order
  • Transfer completed totes of packaged parts to a pallet box
  • Manually package parts into bags, boxes, or onto pallets according to production order requirements
  • Support all production areas by supplying raw materials to bagging stations, production lines, and machinery to ensure continuous workflow
  • Operate forklift and maintain efficient material flow
  • Participate in daily pre-work stretching program
  • Assume other duties as assigned
  • Comply with customer requirements (e.g., shipping instructions, packaging requirements)
